RMI only works if a Finance Director can submit commercially sensitive trading information with confidence. Confidentiality is a structural part of how benchmarks are constructed, not a policy statement added afterwards.

Principles

Your competitors can see the market. They cannot see you.

  • RMI never displays another restaurant’s individual performance.
  • Competitive-set results are reported in aggregate only.
  • Minimum participation thresholds apply before a comp set becomes eligible.
  • Multiple ownership groups are required within every comp set.
  • Ownership concentration is controlled so no single participant can be isolated.
  • Insufficient datasets are suppressed rather than published with caveats.
  • Submitted data is used to produce market benchmarks, not to broker introductions or leads.

From submission to report

    Your data

    Trading date, net revenue, covers and food/beverage split submitted by the operator.

  2. 02

    RMI validation

    Range checks, reconciliation checks and completeness checks before acceptance.

  3. 03

    Anonymisation

    Identity is separated from the performance record used in aggregation.

    Eligible comp set

    Aggregation only proceeds where participation and ownership thresholds are met.

  5. 05

    Aggregated market benchmark

    Comp-set movement is calculated at group level, never at restaurant level.

    Your RMI report

    Your own performance, the market’s movement, and your relative position.

Handling

Practical controls

Access is role-based. Restaurant managers see their own restaurant and its anonymous benchmark. Executives see the full portfolio. Administrators control users, restaurants and submissions.

Benchmark calculations are performed server-side. Competitor-level records are never delivered to the browser, and no client request can return an individual competitor’s trading data.

Participation can be paused or withdrawn. Where a participant withdraws, their data is removed from forward benchmark production.
