About
An independent benchmark, deliberately narrow to begin with
RMI exists to supply the part of restaurant performance reporting that operators cannot produce themselves: what the comparable market did over the same period.
Founder's note
Learned on the floor, at the pass and in the P&L.
Two decades of hard-won operator experience, now in your corner.
Position
Independent by design
RMI is independent of individual EPOS, reservation and accounting providers. It is not a reseller of technology and does not compete with internal analytics tools; it supplies external context those tools cannot.
Independence matters commercially. A benchmark owned by one operator group, or by a technology vendor with a stake in a particular estate, is unlikely to be trusted with sensitive trading data.
Network
Coverage compounds
Benchmark value is a direct function of participation, which is why RMI builds market by market rather than pursuing thin national coverage.
- 01

Further participation in that market
Approach
What RMI will not do
RMI will not publish a market that does not meet sample sufficiency, will not present interpretation as measurement, and will not attribute causes to performance movement without evidence.
Automated commentary states what the data shows. Where a movement is unexplained, that is what the report says.
Speak to RMI
We work with branded and independent restaurant groups and institutional users. Tell us your markets and we will be straightforward about current coverage.
